The Flipside, your source for a balanced blog with the latest news, tips, and commentary, is the love child of marketing communications firm Alternative Strategies. Our playful and occasionally brilliant staff dreamed up the concept for The Flipside after many conference table meetings involving top-notch brainstorm sessions, chocolate chip cookies, and notepads. Lots of notepads.
Launched on September 19th, 2011, The Flipside intends to showcase the lighter side of life with a bit of headlines here, should you be interested in the world's going-ons, and a bit of viral videos there, should you want to spend your time at the office computer doing nothing office-like whatsoever. We're getting down to business, but this time giving you all a “how-to” Tuesday with the introduction of The Manual; a day devoted to bettering your business sense and your common sense. Wondering how you can prepare for the next time a power outage hits during work hours? Or how you can dress ever so fashionably at work? Simply check out The Manual, every Tuesday.
Wednesday: The Lift
On hump day, we're bringing you the better side of the hill. Wednesday is a free-for-all that we guarantee will give you The Lift you need. Check in mid-week for a bit of humor, from the latest in viral videos to our own staff members' thoughts about life. You're going to feel a bit better, we promise!
Thursday: The Grub
Thursday, like so many other days of the week, is a great day to eat. Thus we give you: The Grub. If you don't agree, you just might after checking out our reviews of the latest and greatest restaurants, bars, lounges, and happy hours that our city has to offer. Food trends and recipes abound (submissions welcome!) and you can be sure we'll be all over anything that's hot in San Diego.

If Friday has stepped up to bat and you're still hankering for something to do over the weekend, it's time to check out The Checklist.
